Rivus, a 16′ melonseed, was launched on August 30, 2014. She was built from Marc Barto’s WoodenBoat Store plans, glued lap construction. Her rig was designed by John Brady of Philadelphia’s Independence Seaport Museum.
Lofting the plans from Nick Schade's book, The Strip-Built Sea Kayak, Kevin Rautio built this 17′ Guillemot Sea Kayak from Spanish cedar. He spent about a year building it, including the lofting and scratch-building everything, even the strips.

This boat is a John Harris design know as the Skerry and was built from a Chesapeake Light Craft kit. This was my first boat build and was accomplished in my spare time over about 10 months and a couple of weeks.
David Smith spent two years building this Sharpie ketch OUTBOUND II, a modification of WoodenBoat plan #42. Launched on June 23, 2003, the hull, cockpit, and cabin are plywood covered in fiberglass cloth and epoxy.
Martin Houston designed and built this mini-tugboat, JANI J, that he named for his wife, Janice Jeanette. The two of them built her over five years at their home in South Dakota, epoxying plywood onto fir frames, then covered with fiberglass cloth.
Lunenburg handline dory — launched August 16th. I took a two-week course at The Dory Shop in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia two years back. It took some time to gather the necessary materials and build the forms and jigs. Plus, I developed the workshop as I went along.
Relaunchings----This is a 10ft 5 inch catboat I built from a kit in 2000 from a boatbuilder that is no longer in business, (Upper Deck Boat shop). I had it in Mystic in 2000 for the WoodenBoat Show.
Nick and I started work on the ladder frame for this, our first boat on December 20th, 2016. Her first day in the water was June 15th, 2017. We estimate 500 hours in her construction. We were coached by the video series with Geoff Kerr and published by Off Center Harbor.
19.5' Teak planked and deadwood. Copper riveted. Hull is tight, sound and pretty.
