In the late 1950’s, my younger brother and I spent summers at our grandparents’ cottage on the Winnipeg River in northwestern Ontario, fishing and exploring in a small squat wooden rowboat called the Flea.

Constant Camber construction. Main hull has inner/outer layers of 1/14″ fir, sandwiching two layers of cedar. Amas are three layers of fir. Started building 30 years ago!!
In Pawaukee, Wisconsin, Ric Sternkopf designed and built these two stand-up paddleboards and launched them last April. The boards are 18′ long, 26″ wide, and weigh 38 lbs. They are made of stitch-and-glued 3mm okoume and sapele plywood.
Jim Hammond replaced seven frames on this 16 x56" motorboat, repaired the lower transom, refinished the motor (1958 Big Twin Evinrude) and installed a new windshield. Then he gave it a few (9) coats of varnish. Johnson Boatworks of St. Williams, Ontario, built the boat in 1957.
Kevin and Pat Clair of Carrollton, Texas launched WATERMELON in March 2001. At just under 8' long, this kayak is a tight fit for paddler. She is a "V8" design from Versatile Marine of Carrollton Texas. The hull is made from 3 mm okoume plywood, and the deck from 1.5mm okoume.
Mill Creek 16.5 decked canoe, built from plans from Chesapeake Light Craft. Construction time was about 200 hours over the course of 5 years. Canoe is perfect for Dad in back seat and two kids, ages 3 and 5) in the front.
HIGH TIME, an original Alden Indian, was relaunched at Bittersweet Landing Boatyard at the Gut in South Bristol, Maine, on June 23, 2014. The boat, designed in 1921 for the John G.
Gus Hedden took twice as much time as he expected to build this 15′8″ x 4′5″ Stickleback Dory designed by Iain Oughtred.He salvaged the sail from a 25-year-old Bolger Gypsy design and the spars from small Sunfish style boat.
Joli Boat Philip Thiel GRIETJE launched in The Netherlands at 4th of April 2020. Recently received propulsion and steering system. Now on her first holiday.
Stuart Wentzell designed and built this 18' daysailer sloop, taking just six months for construct her. AMAZING GRACE was launched in the spring of 2001. The hull is 1/4" Douglas fir plywood covered with fiberglass cloth and epoxy.
