MILL CREEK 13 KAYAKS

John and Barbara Strattan built these kayaks in 2003. They are Mill Creek 13 kayaks, designed by Chris Kulczyki of CLC. They use the pair on the streams and rivers of north central Kentucky.

GREAT AUK KAYAK

John Rhyne launched this Great Auk design kayak on August 31, 2003 near his home in Tennessee. The design is from Nick Schade's book, "The Strip-Built Sea Kayak." John used pine and Western red cedar in the construction.

SASSAFRAS 14 CANOE

Hank Stoltz began building this 14' Sassafras Canoe as a member of Bill Thomas' class at WoodenBoat School. He didn't finish it until he got home. Designed by CLC as a tandem boat, this lapstrake stitch-and-glue boat, can also be built as a solo.

Peter Tomasi helped Harry and Martha Bryan with some painting, and received the plans for this 12' Fiddlehead decked canoe as a reward. He launched the canoe on August 31 at Button Bay, Lake Champlain, VT. He writes that "she is fun to paddle and easy to carry.

Amanda Rogers and her father, Jim, built this rowboat at a three-day Family Boatbuilding Workshop sponsored by the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay, MI. They used marine plywood and treated yellow pine for construction.

Susan and Lisa Daiute are enjoying this new Glen-L 14' Power Skiff with their father Steven Daiute. Steven built SU-LI in his garage in 3 weeks during July 2003. They launched her in the Town Cove of Eastham, Cape Cod, Massachusetts in August 2003.
