Sea Spartan
Community School of Davidson in Davidson, North Carolina launches the “Sea Spartan”, a St. Ayles Skiff designed by Iain Oughtred. Built in four months by students and teacher Jim Dumser in the Wood Arts class, the skiff is 22 feet long and rowed by a team of five.

Woods Hole Skiff
This skiff was built at the Woods Hole Historical Museum Boatshop in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, from leftover parts and materials from from other projects. It is built from BS1088 marine plywood, local black locust, red oak, and mahogany.

THE CELT
At age 79, Lloyd Worthington is still turning out boats. THE CELT is a Iain Oughtred Fulmar design, 16'8" x 5'10", that Lloyd built using cold-molded methods. He used hoop pine Australian marine plywood over red Meranti frames and stringers, then covered the hull with Bote-Cote marine epoxy.

Customized Solo PortageThe canoe was completed in 2013. The overall dimensions are of the Solo Portage scale with the modifications made by adding both an inner and outer stem in the bow and stern.The boat is designed as a single blade paddle canoe. The length is 14′6″.
Niarbyl II
Owner Nigel Vaughan had an old Eventide that was becoming unreparable, and couldn’t find another boat that suited his needs. He wanted to introduce a separate heads that could be accomodated by adding a foot to overall length an taking off a foot of the cabin seats.
Wood Duck 12
This is a kit-built stitch and glue kayak from the friendly folks at Chesapeake Light Craft, Annapolis, MD. The hull is constructed of okoume marine plywood. I elected to tackle the hybrid version which incorporates the tri-color cedar strip deck.
