Built for one thing in mind. Catching fish in the large swift and turbid rivers of my native Northwest. The name "Mykizha" is the native Kamkathcan word for the Steelhead trout. It is where the Mykis comes from in the scientific name for Rainbow Trout and Steelhead.
The canoe came from a restaurant in Kansas where it hung from the ceiling. All the old fiberglass had to be stripped off and refinished, and the end stems rebuilt.
The Lowell Town Class was originally designed in 1932 as a safe children’s training boat. Today they are raced by Town Class Association enthusiasts in MA and RI.The Landing School undertook to build three of these boats in the 2019-2020 school year but only one was completed due to COVID-19.

In the late 1950’s, my younger brother and I spent summers at our grandparents’ cottage on the Winnipeg River in northwestern Ontario, fishing and exploring in a small squat wooden rowboat called the Flea.
My adventure started on May 4th at CLC in Annapolis, MD. I thoroughly enjoyed the class. It’s amazing what was completed in a week. 12 weeks later.....The Christening took place on August 3th on the Manasquan River. Loved it!!!
In June of 2020 Martin Herbert and David Seager launched KIKI and SLICK, two International One-Metre radio controlled sailboats. These slender yachts, 162mm wide, were designed and built by Martin.
