Jerry Sweeney built this 16' cedar strip canoe ABENAKI with plans by David Hazen. It was built from scratch starting with two 18' 1 x 6 rough sawn cedar planks. It will be used in the Yakima and Columbia Rivers near Kennewick, WA.
Ray Gray of Newport, North Carolina, has loved boats for a long time but did not build one until recently. After months of research Ray Gray relied on issues 116, 117, and 118 of WoodenBoat magazine to build a Shellback designed by Joel White.

Following instructions in WoodenBoat Nos. 216 and 217, Karl Steidl built this 110-class pond yacht from mahogany strips 1/8″ thick by 1/2″ long. He glued these to aspen frames. The hull is 48″ long, the mast is 46″ tall.Karl was also busy building this USA-12 pond yacht.
Built in Seattle in 1934 by the Blanchard Boat Company, Amazon was re-launched on July 3rd 2018. The boat has just undergone an extensive four year rebuild including a new stem, transom, decks, the replacement of several frames and planks, and a refasten.
Randall Kleeman led a class of 12 students at the Anglo-American School of Moscow, Russia, in the construction of PETER THE GREAT, an Iain Oughtred Whilly boat design. The boat carries 80 sq ft of sail and weighs about 140 lbs.
Bill Burgess built NELL to sail on Hoods Pond in Topsfield, Massachusetts and the waters of Kittery Point, Maine. Launched in September 2000, she is strip-built with 1/4" northern white cedar cove and bead strips, and covered with fiberglassed epoxy.
In 2002, Sal Balsamo built this Ninigret V-bottomed bassboat designed by Atkin Boats of Noroton, CT. Sal used 3/8" okoume plywood planking over white oak frames fastened with bronze screws.
She needed to be nesting to be taken out of the basement where she was built.
HIGH TIME, an original Alden Indian, was relaunched at Bittersweet Landing Boatyard at the Gut in South Bristol, Maine, on June 23, 2014. The boat, designed in 1921 for the John G.
19.5' Teak planked and deadwood. Copper riveted. Hull is tight, sound and pretty.
