"The Luedtke Cat began its life on Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, and the Detroit River. Charles D. Mower was responsible for the design of many of the early boats, which were not strictly one-designs. The hull design which he created was carried through to later versions.

HERTA

This is a salty, mid-century one-of-a-kind launched in 1956 in Vancouver, B.C. It was designed and built by Heinz Braun, a professional draftsman in Vancouver shipyards. Braun based his design on a west coast fishing trawler and built it using an existing hull as a template.

Heritage is a Grand Banks style dory. She’s plywood on wood frame, built off the “Nova Scotian” plans from Spira International.

FLYING EAGLE

FLYING EAGLE was launched by Vinal Beal on the Moosabec Reach of Beals Island, Maine, in 1963. Vinal designed and built all such lobsterboats during winter when not lobstering, by means of a half-model (no plans).

PATIENCE

PATIENCE is a cedar strip hybrid 12′ Wood Duck Kayak. She is glassed in and out, and weighs in at 45 lbs. This was my first atempt at strip building. It was labor intensive but highly rewarding.

I built this boat from a kit purchased from Chesapeake Light Craft. I have built 4 wood strip boats previously. I built a kayak, a canoe, a row boat and a sail boat. My saying is “never build your last boat”.
