This is my first boat building project. I worked all weekends over a year. Using 2 small honda outboards she goes at about 7-8 knots, max 12-13 knots.
A series of Catamaran Houseboats/canal boats has been designed with electric propulsion.
The boats have been designed to meet dimensional restrictions of the french canal waterways, however the design can be easily adapted to other inland waterway requirements.
All we know is that six of this Gillmer type were built at now-defunct Astilleros Carabela in Barcelona, with “ten in the Mediterranean” according to an old pamphlet catalog. SERENA’s plate lists her as #4.
Concept: The CCSF25 is a high performance offshore fishing and family boat, she has a classic running surface of 24 degree deadrise and 8.5' max beam. Wide chine flats for knocking down spray, integrated lifting strakes for high speed handling and directional control.
After seeing the Piccolo in WoodenBoat magazine (Nos. 36 & 37) my brother and I fell in love with it and began construction... 10 years later the boat is complete and launched this past spring although my brother passed away before he could see it completed.
