This is the 16ft version of the Sponge Docks Skiff Serie, built in wood/epoxy, specifically Meranti Hydrotec. She has a side console and a new Suzuki 40hp which got her up to 32mph.
This is an Arrow 14 geodesic canoe designed by Platt Monfort. I used spruce for the stringers, gunwhales, and rub rails, oak for the ribs, cutwaters, and keel, mahogany for the breasthook and knee stems, cherry for the gussets, and maple for the thwarts. The skin is 30 gauge vinyl.
Over a pandemic winter Carl Frey built the NOELLE Q, an 8′ long, 26-pound kayak (19″ beam) from his own plans.

The Covid summer of 2020 was a time of distress and dislocation for many. For New Yorker Lorne Swarthout it was also an opportunity to build a boat in his friend’s garage/workshop in Southwest Harbor, Maine. The project was a Great Auk 14 from Chesapeake Light Craft.
Built during lockdown for my 3-year-old daughter, who helped choose the fabric for skinning. The boat is a Wee Lassie from Dave Gentry, built from plans. Very happy with the outcome!
