The New Ronan is a direct inspiration from our recently released Selkie design. When we came out with the Selkie we knew her sweeping lines would draw admiring stares, and we predicted petite paddlers would love that they finally had a boat designed specifically for them.
The idea behind this design was to see how much boat can be squeezed out of a single sheet of plywood 4x8′ (1220 x 2440mm). The resulting boat is suitable for kids to paddle on ponds or very small lakes.
An entry-level sliding-seat pulling boat. Provides rewarding speed in an easily built hull with enough stability to keep a beginner out of trouble. Construction: Plywood. No lofting is required. Plans include 5 sheets.
