This boat is a larger version of my popular POINT COMFORT 18, a traditional Chesapeake Bay workboat type reinterpreted for simpler and more modern construction.
Simon found an older version of this boat back in the eighties and realized that its thousand-year-old design could be copied and preserved without too much difficulty. He measured it out in ’89 and Bill Nielsen lofted it and drew up the plans in ’91.
Luonteri is a “trail hiking kayak”, that can be divided into three parts. It makes storage and transportation more easy. In addition, the kayak can be transported as a “cart” with one wheel along roads or trails.
Traditional "Whitehall" elegance in a stitch-and-glue kit. For casual single and tandem rowing, we do not believe there is a better build-your-own-boat kit than the Chester Yawl.
