Dean Lohse of Jacksonville, Florida, is a recent graduate from Warren Barker's Fundamentals of Boatbuilding class at the WoodenBoat school.
I built this Eastport Ultralight dinghy (from Chesapeak Light Craft) to get to a mooring on Sengekontacket Pond, in Edgartown, Massachusetts.
Eric Blumhagen writes "I built SOLACE with the able assistance of my wife, my idea woman. After a year and a half of work, I launched it on November 12, 2000. It now hangs from our living room ceiling when not being used on Washington lakes.
Herb Friese built this 16' x 35" cedar strip canoe, Abenaki model, from plans and materials supplied by Newfound Woodworks, Bristol, NH. Herb said it took about eight months of part-time work in his garage. The canoe will be used in the waters around Catskill, NY, by owner Kathleen Farrell.
SHEILA is a Derwent Skiff designed by Allan Witt of Hobart; she is named after my late mother.

Each year the Door County Maritime Museum, www.dcmm.org, hosts a class in wooden boat building. This year’s volunteer class instructors, David Morgan, Bob Schottmuller and Jerry McNamara, chose Newfound Woodworks’ Whitehall pulling boat.
