ENA II
ENA II was built between 1936 and 1938 by John Beattie’s Boatyard in Balmain Sydney. Anecdotally she was designed by Cecil Boden whilst he was a Naval Architect at Cockatoo Dock.
The Register of Wooden Boats lists information about wooden boats 10′ LOA (length overall) and above. It came into being after, and because, the annual Lloyd’s Register of American Yachts and the subsequent short-lived North American Yacht Register ceased publication. To submit your boat for inclusion in the Register of Wooden Boats, follow the instructions on this page. All submissions are subject to editing and approval.
To refine your search, add quote marks. If you search Free Spirit, you will get all the listings which include free or spirit. To refine, search “Free Spirit” and you’ll see just Free Spirit results.

I purchased the boat from a former editor of “Maine Boats & Harbors” who felt he would never have the time to restore her. I am told that the boat was originally built for the editor of “Down East” magazine.
