Shearwater 17
I completed my CLC Shearwater 17 last week and had my launching on Friday. Here are some pictures of the boat after I put the final touches on it, as well as of me on the water.
ADVENTURESS
My partner and I stumbled across a 1955 Philip Rhodes R27 which was in great shape but needed the dreaded deadwood and keel replaced. There was some concern regarding her keelboard too which meant that the previous owner was very keen to get rid of her.
Rivus
Rivus, a 16′ melonseed, was launched on August 30, 2014. She was built from Marc Barto’s WoodenBoat Store plans, glued lap construction. Her rig was designed by John Brady of Philadelphia’s Independence Seaport Museum.
ROSA
I designed this 17′ 6″ flat bottom row boat based on my experience and respect for the late Pete Culler. She is glued lap construction of 9mm Okume side planking and a 12mm bottom using west system epoxy. Frames, skeg and keel strip are lumber yard fir.
