This canoe is based on the Laughing Loon Wee Vera plans for a 10ft canoe. I stretched the plans out to 12ft. It is a cedar strip design.

40′ on deck and 49′ with bow sprit, S.Y. RAVENSONG was built by Denis Brown in Ventura California and launched in 1934. Her hull is 38mm thick, single stripped plank construction of Californian Red Cedar from the giant redwood forests. Mast and spars are Canadian Oregon and Canadian Spruce.

ATNA

I helped my friend Glenn Strombo build this Adirondack Guide Boat to the plans found in “Building an Adirondack Guide Boat” by Michael J. Olivette and John D Michne.We shortened the length by 16 inches to utilize more readily available 16 foot cedar planking stock.

CREE was built in Oakdale, NY, by Otsie Muff, and launched July 29, 1973. She's mahogany planked over white oak frames. We are the fourth or fifth owners, and purchased her in April, 2017.

CHARISMA
