HIGH TIME

An original John Alden Indian, the HIGH TIME was purchased in Old Saybrook, Connecticut, in about 1955 by Max Putzel. She was already about 30 years old and looked it, but she was a fine boat, and he and his family sailed her on Long Island, Fishers, and Rhode Island Sounds for nearly 20 years.

My 1954 Edwin Monk designed, Popular Mechanics,15 foot Knockabout, in the water again after extensive restoration, her name Cap'n Ellery after Artist, author, fisherman, and my hero Ellery Thompson 1899-1986.

FARANDOLE

Designed by the architects Joubert/Nivelt, the Andreyale engenders nostalgia for the American commuter boats of the 1930s.

The V-shaped, narrow, elegant hull, characteristic of the Andreyale style, is the guarantee of their particularly seaworthy.

LILLY

A 16 ft clinker canoe of larch on oak from John Gardners 'Classic Small Craft'. The cubbies aft and fore form watertight compartments.

DRAGONFLY

This is a Chesapeake Light Craft Petrel SG sea kayak. Construction is stitch and glue, fiberglass over stained Okuome ply. Custom changes to the kit included the soft pad eyes, dragonfly inlay, a carved skeg control housing and turned carrying toggles and paddle bead.
