Wooden Sailboat - 16ft Core Sound Sailing Skiff

This reproduction 19th/20th Century sprit-rig Core Sound Sailing Skiff was built in 2012, at the Harvey Smith Watercraft Center (Beaufort NC Maritime Museum), during a multi-day wooden boat building course. Core Sound Skiffs were shallow draft work/fishing boats.

This vessel has been stored under a cover in a boat shed. The vessel comes with mast, sprit-rig spar, rudder/tiller, centerboard, rigging, bronze, oar locks, belay pins, tough vinyl cover, and new trailer.

Work to be done... the previous owner painted her with a cheap paint, that fortunately is simply flaking off. Pressure washing or heat gun will easily remove what's left. Wood is like new underneath.

Also, this is a wooden boat, so the one time we put her in the water, we were surprised when water leaked in through the floor planks. We later learned that the wooden planks needed to swell to be watertight. Unless you plan on keeping her in the water, the floor planks need to be caulked, or epoxied. Lastly, mice got into the sail bag and damaged both main and head sail. They are intact enough to use as templates for new ones, but I believe will need to be replaced. $1,000. I can deliver for a fee.
