Silk Purse - An Historically-Inspired Trailerable Gaff Pocket Cruiser

Awarded “Best Owner Restored Sailboat” at Mystic WoodenBoat Show 2024. Owned for 47 years and trailer-sailed from the Chesapeake to Canada.

Restored from a 1955 A. R. True hull (cedar over oak, bronze fastened) and reconstructed with features from circa 1903 mid-Atlantic boats into a trailerable cutter-rigged gaff sloop. Has carried two adults and two children for up to a week.

8 horse Honda outboard hidden in tilt-up well
Main and 3 jibs
Can lower mast while under way for bridges
2 V-berths, 2 main berths, port quarter berth - all at same level
