1946 44' Island Clipper Sloop Nirvana

San Francisco Bay birthed 1946 Fellow & Stewart Island Clipper, Nirvana (44 ft LOA, 9 ½ beam, 7 ½ draft, fractional rigged sloop) is available. The boat is in the water. Douglass fir on white oak frames with mahogany trim. Galvanized fasteners. Several generations of repairs, including sistering, a new mast step, and stainless steel floors under the mast step. While several repair and maintenance projects are required to return Nirvana to sailing condition, the boat is structurally sound for her age. The major item is the lack of an engine. Replacement options for the original gas-powered Gray Marine 4-112 are available. All supporting systems, such as a recently replaced gas tank and freshwater cooling system, are still intact. The exhaust cooling system needs re-engineering (it was the cause of the previous engine failure). The rigging is due to be replaced, and should be inspected prior to use.

Inside the cabin is of serviceable condition, with some paint on the cabin roof and bulkheads needing stripping and repainting.
