Westport Fishermen’s Association Annual Classic Small Wooden Boat Show
-
The Westport Fishermen’s Association's Annual Classic Small Wooden Boat Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 14th & 15th at the Horseneck Point Life Saving Station, 241 East Beach Road, Westport MA.
The show will feature an array of beautiful and classic hand-built boats, each competing for the "Best in Show" award. There will also be some hand-crafted models, antique boatbuilding and woodworking tools and other marine related items on display. A pilot gig-rowing demonstration is set for Saturday, 12 to 2 p.m., weather permitting.
Refreshments, WFA merchandise and the Marine Equipment flea market will be available on both days. Join us as we celebrate the local talents of wooden boat builders and enthusiasts in the area and have a chance to talk with them about their craft.
The association is looking for classic wooden boats and boat models to display. If you have a boat, moveable by trailer, that you wish to show, contact Tanja Ryden at wfa@westportriver.org or 774-264-9200 to reserve spots. Entry is free, but space is limited. Overnight security is provided.
The Westport Fishermen’s Association is a grass roots non-profit that has been advocating for the protection of the Westport River since 1983.
