Urban Boatbuilders Annual Celebration and Open House

You are cordially invited to Urban Boatbuilders’ 17th Annual Open House and Fundraising Event. On Sunday, November 18, from 2 to 5:00 p.m. at the Dancers Studio Event Center. The UBB shop, around the corner from the Dancers Studio, will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. You are welcome to bring family and friends.

Our mission is positive youth development through the building and use of boats. We are a youth development agency, building youth one boat at a time. Our target populations are youth at risk for dropping out of school, for continued involvement with the juvenile justice system, and vulnerable to those risks associated with being a youth in poverty. The Urban Boatbuilders youth programs engage teens from within the juvenile justice system, charter schools, public schools, and community programs. Youth participants from partner agencies gain skills, knowledge, confidence, and responsibility while learning woodworking and boatbuilding skills in a mentored environment. Older youth participants, working as apprentices, also develop advanced woodworking and boatbuilding skills as well as mentoring, job readiness support, and workforce orientation. Our youth need your support.
