Third Friday Speaker Series: More Faster Backwards Book Reading and Talk

The Third Friday Speaker Series for November is More Faster Backwards book reading and talk by Captain Jeffrey and Christine Smith, 7 to 10 p.m.

In the spring of 1998 the Smiths found and fell in love with the M/V DAVID B, a wooden boat built in 1929. It was just the boat they were looking for to restore to offer small ship adventure cruises. What was originally supposed to be a two-year restoration project took more than eight years of blood, sweat, and uncertainty to make their dream lifestyle come true. More Faster Backwards: Rebuilding David B is the story of their struggle to revive a dying boat and the excitement of running a tour boat in the wilds of Alaska.

Each month CWB finds a speaker of wit and experience to talk about his or her special knowledge. It is also an opportunity for CWB members to meet one another and the staff. Admission is free and refreshments are served (donations to cover costs are appreciated).
