Surf Boat Christening

Join the Amagansett Life-Saving Station and local leaders for the official christening of the Station's newly-commissioned Beebe surfboat.

The boat was hand-built in North Carolina by Bobby Staab, who will be present to discuss its construction. The boat is a modern version of the original Beebe Boat built in Greenport between 1879 and 1918. Learn about the unique design and construction of these boats that enabled them to assist in countless rescues along the entire East Coast.
