Sound Stories: A Veteran Maritime Heritage Cruise

See Puget Sound sights through the eyes of an experiences ships pilot or commercial fishing skipper.

About the excursion: Maybe you’re a weathered mariner, or maybe you’ve never stepped foot on a boat before. No matter what your background is, this unique program is guaranteed to be unlike anything you've experienced. Spend an afternoon aboard the historic purse seine vessel Veteran cruising Puget Sound — you’ll visit places like Commencement Bay and its waterways, Tacoma’s ports, historic commercial fishing grounds, and more. The exact locations will be determined by your USCG licensed skipper and weather and traffic conditions. Along the way, you’ll be regaled with maritime history, nautical information, and believe-it-or-not stories from your captain, who is a Puget Sound ship’s pilot or commercial fishing skipper with years of on-the-water experience. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is not to be missed.
