National Kenu & Kundu Festival

-

The annual National Kenu & Kundu Festival will be held on the 3rd to 9th of November 2019 in Alotau, Milne Bay Province, in Papua New Guinea.

Each year in the first full week-end of November, the small and peaceful capital of Milne Bay Province, Alotau, comes to life with an explosion of vibrant culture, traditional canoes and the unmistakable echo of the conch shell: this is the time of the annual National Kenu & Kundu Festival, Papua New Guinea’s largest traditional canoeing event.

Be immersed over three days of festivities in a living culture.

Feast on traditional delicacies, be enthralled by swaying grass-skirts, pounding rhythms, the scent of the sea, and the warmest welcome from a people who open their home, culture and hearts to you!
