INTERNATIONAL MEETING FOR VINTAGE AND CLASSIC MOTORBOATS
LAKE ISEO AND HIS HISTORICAL BOATYARDS

The meeting is open to all vintage motorboats that are able to maintain a cruising speed of 20 kilometers per hour. The Organization has the faculty to admit more recent classic boats, provided that they are, due to their design or construction, of particular interest to nautical traditions.

Lake Iseo is the alpine lake that contains the largest Italian lake island, Monte Isola, in addition to two smaller, Loreto and San Paolo. The lake is considered one of the oldest tourist gems of Europe: the discovery of remains of stilts villages and rock carvings confirm that the area was inhabited in prehistoric times.

Since the sixteenth century the lake has also been the birthplace of many famous yards for the production of fishing and work boats, and, more recently, of dinghies and motor boats.

The oldest of them all, but still fully active with its mythical “gozzi”, is the Archetti boat yard in Monte Isola. At the turn of the 50's other yards of the lake have contributed to give high prestige to Italian boat building; among the most famous Riva shipyard in Sarnico, Bellini, Arcangeli and Piantoni.

During the meeting we will visit the Riva Museum, located in the Riva boatyard as well as the unique collection of vintage Riva motorboats that Romano Bellini has collected over the years.
The southern part of Lake Iseo borders the Franciacorta, since ancient times a land of wine tradition, that, especially in recent decades, has become one of the areas with a stronger vocation for sparkling wines of great quality.

Thursday 25/6 Lovere – Boats arrive at the boatyard “Porto Turistico di Lovere”. Boats launched, refueling and mooring.

Check-in at hotels. No planned dinner.

Friday 26/6
Lovere – Departure of the fleet towards the southern part of Lake Iseo sailing along most naturalistic coast of the lake, the western one. We shall moor the boats in Clusane at Nautica Bellini who kindly gives hospitality; we will also have the opportunity to appreciate his unique collection of Riva boats. Transfer to the nearby hilly area of Franciacorta, where we will have lunch at the farm restaurant Solive and then visit Cà del Bosco, the most prestigious wine producer of this famous wine area. Return to Lovere and dinner at the restaurant Moderno, located in the square of the ancient port of the small town.

Saturday 27/6
Lovere - Parade of our fleet in front of the lakeside of Lovere.

On board the boat "La Capitanio", launched in 1926, we will be ferried to Sarnico for visiting the mythical Riva boatyard. Reception to follow and lunch directly on site. At the end of the day, La Capitanio shall bring us to Monte Isola island for a visit of the historical center of Peschiera. Return to Lovere and dinner on the beautiful lakeside terrace of the restaurant Il Salotto.
