Gig Harbor BoatShop’s Sailor’s Fancy Knotwork at the historic Eddon Boatyard

This class will show you the “ropes” of how to make one of the following: a bellrope, a boat fender ornament or key fob, or rope coverings for your boat railings, ships wheel or favorite coffee mug. The photos are a representative sample of what you might create. You’ll be introduced to the marlinspike sailor’s art of fancy ropework and maybe you’ll find a new hobby. Wednesday, January 18 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. $25 for members; $35 for non-members. Fee includes all materials. Call (253) 857-9344 or email info@gigharborboatshop.org to register, or visit www.gigharborboatshop.org for more information. Register by January 13. An additional session will be offered in February.
