Gathering of the Maine Windjammer Fleet

The sail in will be on Wednesday the 11th instead of Tuesday the 10th due to high winds.

“Back to School” sales, bright, orange pumpkins and big, yellow school busses all herald the coming of fall. In mid-coast Maine, fall also means it’s time for the annual WoodenBoat Sail-In. On September 10, the entire Maine windjammer fleet will be gathering at the Brooklin, Maine headquarters of WoodenBoat where the award-winning and internationally renowned WoodenBoat Magazine and WoodenBoat School have operated for nearly 40 years.

Every year, WoodenBoat opens its doors to the Maine Windjammer Association so that windjamming guests can explore the grounds, the store and the school, and learn about the history of traditional wooden boats. On Tuesday, September 10, this all takes place on Brooklin’s rugged shoreline with scrumptious local food on offer and live music by Flash in the Pans to encourage guests to dance the afternoon away.

It wouldn’t be fall without the WoodenBoat Sail-In, when the entire Maine Windjammer fleet gathers one last time before the end of the season.
