Classic Wooden Sailboat Rendezvous & Race

Sponsored by the National Sailing Hall of Fame and the Chesapeake Traditional Sailboat Association, the 9th Annual Classic Wooden Sailboat Rendezvous & Race will take place September 21 – 23 in Annapolis, Maryland. This is a fun gathering of classic wooden sailboat enthusiasts and their boats for an informal rendezvous and race. The historic boats will be on display at the National Sailing Hall of Fame docks (near City Dock) on Saturday, September 22. Also on Saturday, will be a remote controlled model sailboat race, free talks, and a chance to board some of the boats on display. The race is held the next day (Sunday, September 23) at 11:00am and is located in the Annapolis Harbor, just off the U.S. Naval Academy sea wall (*weather permitting). The course is approximately 5.4 NM and involves 3 laps in a pursuit style race. Early bird registration ends on August 24th and costs $30; regular registration is $50 and must be postmarked before August 25th (last day to register online is September 21st, 2018). If you are interested in participating in the race but do not own or have access to a classic wooden sailboat, the Schooner Woodwinds invite you to participate aboard their boats which will be racing. Tickets prices, which are $86 for adults and $50 for children, include a 3.5 hour cruise, bagged lunch, soft drinks, bottled water, and tax.
