12th Gathering of Glen-L Boatbuilders

-

All builders of Glen-L boats are invited to this year's Gathering of Glen-L Boatbuilders on Lake Nickajack at Hale’s Bar Marina and Resort, 1265 Hales Bar Road, Guild, Tennessee. All non-builders are invited, too; actually anyone with an interest in boats should just come and join the fun. The Gathering is open to all boat builders. We welcome you even if it's not a Glen-L design, you haven't started, you aren't sure what you want to build, or you just like wooden boats. All are welcome!

This is a free event organized by the members of the Glen-L Marine Forum, and the only thing they ask is that you let them know you're coming. Connect with them on the forum. You can also email us at info@Glen-L.com with any questions.

Now in its 12th year, the event remains informal with no serious awards or competitions, though fun awards are presented from time to time. These builders love to talk about boats, so even you don’t have a Glen-L boat, you can still come. It is a great place to see boats you might want to build and learn some of the tricks and tips of the process. Typical attendance is about 20-30 boats and over 100 people throughout the weekend. On Friday morning the boats make the 35-mile run to Chattanooga for lunch.

You can just show up, but it's best if you let us know on the forum if you’re going. Our forum members prepare food for meals and everyone is welcome to help them. There are floating cabins available that we reserve in advance for the event. There are also land cabins and camping sites available.
