Wood Duck 12
This is a photo of my wife using her kayak on hyena Pere Marquette River in Michigan in the fall. I built two of them from plans bought from CLC.
Oh-Eight Dories
In March of 2008 I completed construction of a prototype, single frame, light dory of my own design. It was my intention that this boat would be light enough to car top and at the same time capable of handling choppy waters.
CRAIG RYDER
The Boy Scouts of Camp Wah Tut Ca in Northwood, New Hampshire just launched a new sailing surf dory built by Graham McKay of Lowell’s Boat Shop in Amesbury, Massachusetts. Modified from Lowell's standard surf dory design, the 27′ x 7′ ketch will also serve as a pulling boat.
Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff
Stirling Fraser was astonished that his 15′6″ Jericho Bay Lobster Skiff floated when he launched it last July at Denman Island, British Columbia. He described his unnamed outboard-powered skiff as a plain-Jane version of the design by Joel White.
Cottage Cruiser
15′6″ Cottage cruiser. Local red cedar, cherry and white oak. Hand woven cane seats.
Voyager Solo Canoe
In May 2012, Jay Thomas launched his 15′6″ Voyager Solo canoe in Coot Bay Pond in Everglades National Park at the southern tip of Florida.
Grace's Tender
Jackie Lih, age 7, helped her father, Arthur, to build this 8′ Grace's Tender from a kit by Arch Davis. They made the hull from 4mm okoume plywood on white pine frames.
Salt Bay Skiff
Matt Haslam bought the plans for the 12′ 6″ Salt Bay Skiff by Chris Franklin from Bruce King Yacht Design after it was featured in WB No. 199 in 2007. He built his skiff out of materials he found locally near his home in Wichita, Kansas.
