Rosebud

The Rosebud was strip-built of tamarack following the classic lines of the Columbia dinghy from WoodenBoat plans. The tamarack was harvested from two large trees on our Norwich, Vermont property in June, 2012 and construction started in late summer.

The Fence

“The Fence” was donated to the Anacostia Watershed Society by teenagers Aaron and Alana Richards, and launched on July 17, 2013.The rowboat had its unusual origins as a project between next-door neighbors. The Fields/Richards and Batson/Eatons shared an aging fence in Takoma Park, Maryland.

The input was “design a pure cruising boat”.The boat has wide internal volumes, limited draft, average/high displacement and sailing area which do not require a continuos sail change.The hull lines have been developed both to corner and round.We wanted to realize something new for deck design.

The AC 75 Evolution design input was to crate a trailerable boat with a small displacement, building with traditional materials such as wood. Another request was to have a comfort and an interior volume typical of larger size boats. We have modified the deck lines to achieve these results.
