Phyxius (Greek - Take Flight)

Phyxius is a kayak race boat. It is a CLC designed kit — West River 180. It is 4mm plywood built super light. I have over 250 miles of competition. John Harris got this design out of his obsolete files and retooled it for me. A very good boat for moderate distance racing.

SASSAFRASS

SASSAFRASS was built in Vietnam in the early 1960’s for a US navel officer. She was originally gaff rigged, fore and main. She spent most of her life in southern California in Emerald Bay, owned by a Catalina harbor patrol officer and his wife and several subsequent Vietnam vets.

YANKEE DAHLIN'

Frank Crumbaugh spent most of Summer 2015 at the WoodenBoat School. He brought home a Fundamentals Class Catspaw dinghy, finished her over the Winter 2015-2016, and launched on 25 August 2016.

13 year old Hannah Dumser of Davidson, North Carolina and her dad Jim finished and launched their Jericho Bay Skiff (WB No. 210, 211) named Juniper. Built out of Atlantic White Cedar and trimmed in Okoume.

DOUBLE TROUBLE

I built this Nutshell pram in the strip method of construction for my two daughters to learn to sail and row, hence the name “Double Trouble”. I have yet to add the mast for the sail rig, but we managed to put it in the water for rowing this past week.
