Designed by Matt Tolonen and built at Columbia Boatworks in Oregon, Petrel's heavy construction and double-ended hull reflect her Finnish roots and rugged seaworthiness. She worked up and down the Pacific coast for 66 years before undergoing an extensive 5-year rebuild. Retaining her original keel, massive engine beds and about half her frames, she was revived with impressive craftsmanship and respect for her original lines.
