Angus Sailing Rowcruiser

Sailing Rowcruiser for sale in Buffalo, New York. Asking $8,900.

I Finished the boat last year and managed to get some sailing in before the autumn weather closed the season. With a few sailing days this year, I've decided to build another boat! I'm ready to pass her on and make room in my garage for another boat build! I like to build things. Next is the Welsford Navigator as I'm looking for a little smaller daysailer.

The Sailing Rowcruiser was designed by Colin Angus for the Race to Alaska, the R2AK is a 750 mile race from Port Townsend Washington to Ketchikan Alaska, through the Inside Passage with massive tidal swings, whirlpools, floating logs having escaped from log rafts headed to the mill and plenty of rocks to run into. Every year I see two or three of the Rowcruisers in the race. The Sailing Rowcruiser has also completed the Everglades Challenge, and the Texas 200. The interesting thing is you can leave the outer hulls and the sailing rig at home and adventure out with just the main hull as an Expedition Rower. Some people order just the main hull kit from Duckworks to build a remarkable Expedition Rower. The Rowcruiser with its sliding seat make for a serious rowing machine. Two fellows on YouTube theses days are attempting the 2,000 mile Northwest passage route. Last I heard they were on day 91. Scott Jones at Duckworks mentioned on their Facebook page that the Rowcruiser has also completed the 6,000 mile Great Loop. The Great Loop is worth a google if your not familiar.

I purchased the kit from Duckworks Boat builder's Supply.

Price includes an all aluminum Trailex Trailer with upgraded 12" wheels vs the 8" that come with the SUT-350-S model. Also included is a spare tire. All total, valued at something like $2,400 dollars.
9' carbon fiber oars, although used when I got them seem to be in good shape. I went with a Balanced Lug Rig, mast boom and yard purchased from CLC boats. This is off the Southwester Dorry and is 78sf. I had the sailmaker add a second set of reef points as well.
I have built a mast partner and mast step for a mizen mast, so it's ready to go if one desired to add one. In the photos you can see I have a bit of wood sticking up in it's place.
Every piece of plywood or solid stock has been epoxied and or fiberglassed. Two layers of fiberglass on most of the hull.
The sliding seat is Carbon fiber, The oarlocks and foot stretcher are from Concept 2.
I've added an additional shaped piece of wood epoxied and filleted to the underside on the shear clamp. It just looks so nice.
I used Total Boat two part epoxy primer on all three hulls. and rolled on antifouling bottom paint. She's ready to stay in the water for extended periods.
I fiberglass taped all the seams on the inside of the hull and fiberglassed over that. More than what was called for.
I redesigned the foot stretcher assembly to be completely removed from the boat by removing two wingnuts.
The Rigger Arm was fiberglassed over with Duckworks Braided Biaxial Fiberglass Sleeving. This is a seamless 10oz fiberglass tube. The Akas, the two arms the span the width of the boat the Amas, (outer hulls) are attached to, were also fiberglassed using 15oz Biaxial sleeving. 6oz glass was called for in both these applications, so I went a bit further.
There is so much more that could be said, so I'm happy to do FaceTime call or Zoom call to do a walk around and answer any questions.

I feel with the newness of the boat , the robust building choices I made and the considerable time spent to reach for an over all high quality boat build, that my asking price is quite fair.

Will consider partway delivery, depending on final sale price.
