VILA 650 is the biggest of the VILA family of three small planning cruisers.

This V-bottomed daysailer can be shallow or deep drafted and is easily sailed.

Construction: Batten-seam planking over steamed frames

Alternative construction: Plywood

Lofting is optional.

The Tolman Skiff has a Dory heritage with a “V” bottom and was designed to handle the inland and open waters of Alaska and is a very capable ocean skiff.

I originally designed this kayak for a customer with a lake house in Wisconsin. He is a fit, athletic guy with almost no experience in a kayak. He wanted something he felt comfortable in, yet which would move along nicely.
