Schooner JACK EVERYMAN

This schooner is intended as a comfortable cruising yacht for a couple with occasional guests, and to be of simple construction so that Jack everyman can build it.  It has a twin keel / centreline rudder configuration.  

The cockpit is aft, the saloon generous, the head comfortable and the galley practical.

Construction is composite: stitch & glue marine ply, hardwood timbers and fiberglass.  Lofting is required

Sail area with a self tacking rig is  64 m^2, with a larger rig 74 m^2.

Propulsion is by a 30kw/40hp diesel outboard located in the aft peak.  Predicted maximum speed under power is 7 knots and maximum range is 1700 nautical miles at 6 knots.

Electrical power is via solar cells and a large battery bank.  A small DG set could be squeezed into the aft peak.

The build pack comprises 37 documents totalling 78 A4 pages of Specifications, Drawings, Notes, Sketches and etc.
