The Crystal 16 is powered by a tiller steered outboard up to 30hp. No steering console is offered and it is not recommended, keep her simple! Speed with 25hp should be in the mid to upper 20's. Her fuel is carried in a 6.5 gallon portable tank mounted on deck back aft. Just forward of the transom is a well for bilge pump. Her batteries for both the main engine and the trolling motor will be carried up forward.
Construction is to be strip planked composite using 1/4" canoe strips covered in 1208 double biias fiberglass inside and out. Stringers and frames will be from 12mm marine plywood glued and glassed in with epoxy. Hull weight should be around 450 pounds with an all up displacement of 1,100 pounds.
