VERONIQUE

VERONIQUE is a 14′ Dacron skin-on-frame canoe based on the Geodesic Aerolite Arrow 14 design. Built and owned by Carl Frey. Ribs are steamed red oak. Stringers and inwales are laminated Douglas fir. Rub rails are Sitka spruce and the floorboards are made from ¼″ thick cedar wall paneling with the tongue and grooves removed. The canoe’s maiden voyage took place on a sunny May 2, 2019 on Delaware’s Lewes and Rehoboth Canal. The canoe is a delight to paddle. More stable than you might suspect. Through the canoe’s translucent skin you can watch the water swirl along by the boat’s hull as you paddle.
