Stag One

Red cedar strip-built Freedom 17 canoe designed by Steve Killing. Followed Ted Moores’ book “Canoecraft” religiously as this is my first boat. Ash inwales and outwales, cherry yoke and thwarts, Port Orford Cedar with walnut accented decks. Paddles carved from maple. Port Orford Cedar and maple planks milled at the beach from logs that washed ashore. Launched on Father’s Day with my family. To be used for canoe trips and recreation in the waters in and around British Columbia.
