Small Dog Boatworks and Kayak and Sail Lynn Launch Two Canoes

Starting work in a cold, 14º garage over February break, continuing the effort over April vacation, the team from Lynn English HS, Lynn MA wrapped up two "6-hour Canoe" builds and partially completed a third boat this past June 21!  

Although for the most part a traditional interpretation of this classic build, the team used their CNC router to design and cut several parts, slightly improved over the original 1977 design.  

The community joined us for a double launch on the first sunny, dry Saturday morning in two months.  

Joined by several local officials including our Mayor, Jared Nicholson, Dr. Peter Meaney (USN) captained the first boat on the water, along with the Deputy Secretary of Veteran Services, Dr. Andrea Gayle-Bennett.  The Kayak and Sail Lynn boats are all available for student and veteran use.
