TURTLE

Built this little kayak from a Chesapeake Light Craft kit for my wife. Nothing fancy, she’s been happily paddling around in it for 7 years now. I sealed the rear hatch and there is no lashing on deck because she just uses the boat for summer evening paddles. It’s painted with Interlux, the hull dark blue, the cockpit light gray, the coaming is left natural. Takes a beating, gets a re-finish every couple of years, and is starting to look pretty salty. (The swordfish on the bow is copied from the one on the conning tower of the U-boat in “Das Boot”.)
