SEA WINGS

This vessel was built in 1957 by Naval Architect Ted Carpentier in who also worked as an engineer for Hughes Aircraft. It was custom built for the CEO of United Airlines (in fact, the original spinnaker is in United Airlines colors). SEA WINGS was designed to the “light displacement” standards of the day. Her construction is edge nailed Alaskan Cedar tongue and grooved. She has an iron keel and an aft-hung rudder. I have owned this boat since 1996. The interior has been refinished, electric Elco Motor installed and a new carbon fiber mast and boom and new toilet are ready to be installed. She is really close to being done, just needs someone with time and TLC.She is a fine vessel with no evidence of decay in the hull. The hull was last sounded with a hammer when drydocked and appeared to be tight and sound. She as been docked for sometime and it still is very dry. It has a teak overlay deck and is Coast Guard Vessel documented.SEA WINGS really is a great name for this boat. Her design creates a feeling of flying while sailing.
