EQUINOX

EQUINOX is a recently built and slightly modified 36-foot Francis Herreshoff “Nereia” ketch that was strip-planked with cypress over laminated yellow-pine frames, fastened entirely with silicon bronze, and launched in 2000. With an LOD of 36′ beneath an LOA of 46′, she draws 5′6″ when liveaboard-loaded and displaces 12 tons. She carries 60 gallons of fresh water in two monel tanks and holds 30 gallons of waste from a Jabsco “Twist n Lock” head. Inboard auxilliary power is a Yanmar 3GM30FC (24 HP) with 55 gallons of diesel in two separate tanks. The large galley includes a 3-burner Shipmate kerosene stove and a 32-quart Engel AC/DC fridge. She is a joy to the eye, solid underfoot, stable at sea, comfortable at anchor, sleeps 2 comfortably in the queen-size v-berth but will sleep and feed 4 in a pinch.
