DREAMS WON'T WAIT

DREAMS WON'T WAIT - CLC PocketShip Gaff-rigged Sloop:
I had planned on building a sailboat going on 25+ years now, which started back in my college days. I've been gaining skills for doing a sailboat build since then including attending The WoodenBoat school in 2016, Woodworking, metal casting, sculpting, fiberglass, painting, electrical, electronics and then some. You know dreams are manifesting into reality when you've mapped out the space on the garage floor and the materials charge hits your card and then you receive your invoice. I had specifically measured the length and width of the garage before we bought the house here at the beach on the coast of New Hampshire to make sure that I could in fact build a boat one day. The build was quick in parts and slower in others (read - much sanding). I could have launched last fall but decided to take the winter to finish wiring in a heated garage. ‘Dreams Won’t Wait’ received a flawless condition and value survey early May including the electrical work having exceeded ABYC standards. The main and jib sails were purchased but the spinnaker was sewn by me. ‘Dreams Won’t Wait’ is really a 30 foot on deck boat built into a fifteen foot on deck boat. The term overbuilt was used during the survey and includes a NMEA 2k network, plotter, VHF, AIS transponder, EPIRB, stereo, and solar charging. I had decided on a 4 HP Tohatsu long shaft motor since our tidal range is nine-foot average and the currents around rivers can be quite quick. All work was completed by me after work and on weekends other than the flipping of the hull. Dreams no longer have to wait and I was not going to hold off until retirement.
