CHARM

CHARM was the third schooner designed and build by Ned Ackerman. Her keel was laid in a barn at the foot of the Camden Snow Bowl in the summer of 1999. Ned single-handedly built her hull over the course of the next 10 years. He then approached Taylor Allen of Rockport Marine to finish her interior spaces, build her spars‚ and fit her out. CHARM was launched in 2010 in Rockport, Maine, and Ned spent the next four years sailing her as far south as Newport, RI.In the summer of 2016 Jack and Angela found CHARM and immediately decided she was the schooner they wanted to put into service in pursuit of their dream to share their love of sailing with others. From 2016-2019 CHARM has undergone upgrades and configuration modifications required for her USCG certificate of inspection to carry passengers. CHARM now calls Thompson’s Wharf in Belfast, Maine, her home and sails daily (in season) around the upper Penobscot Bay.Previous listing under designer/builder’s ownership.
