ASTROPHEL

ASTROPHEL is a 33-ft wooden cutter built by George Bruigom, of Comox, BC. The design seems to be that of Harrison Butler, as she is very close in length and model to SAGE, also built by George Bruigom. I have not been able to verify all of the information, but the two vessels are identical except for their coach-tops. And, as far as I know, old George only built two vessels of that length, SAGE being one, so that would leave ASTROPHEL as the other. I have surveys dating back to 1998 that corroborate all the information I have seen to this point. She is a beauty and has unbelievable balance when sailing, pointing closer to weather than one would expect. My wife and I are planning on a cruise in the Spring of 2017.
