Women's Sailing Conference at Hudson River Maritime Museum

Modeled on the National Women’s Sailing Conference, which has endorsed this project, beginner and advanced women sailors can expect a full day of exploration at this women-teaching-women sailing conference, with classes held at the Hudson River Maritime Museum and Wooden Boat School. Hands-on workshops are paired with classroom theory and intimate conversation circles: blue water sailing, navigation, line management, basic racing rules, troubleshooting outboard motors, marine electrical systems, and more.

Our keynote presenter is Captain Dawn Riley, the first woman to manage an America's Cup sailing team. She has raced on four America’s Cup and two Whitbread (now The Ocean Race) teams. Dawn now runs Oakcliff Sailing Center, which provides opportunities for participants to do many levels of offshore racing as well as various forms of inshore racing. Based in Oyster Bay, NY, Oakcliff hosts sailors from around the world and trains them to work and sail at the highest levels of the sport.

Optional dinner with keynote Capt. Riley on Friday, March 27, and post-conference pizza and a movie featuring the inspiring documentary “Maiden” on Saturday, March 28, are available for an additional fee of $44 and $20 per person, respectively. Register for the conference; pre- and post-conference meals.
