Detroit Classic Boat Regatta

The goal of this event is to get as many classic and historic yachts as possible out on the water for some friendly competition. Any vessel that is pre-1970 is eligible. Any wood boat with a design whose intent is to evoke the look and feel of a classic yacht is eligible. Our goal is to encourage participation. Tentatively, the start will be just off of Windmill Point Park at the mouth of the Detroit River. We will race out into Lake St. Clair, back to the river and finish in front of the Detroit Yacht Club. This course should provide excellent viewing of these classic yachts as we sail by the Detroit Sail Club, Bayview Yacht Club, Edison Boat Club, Harbor Hill, Kean's and Gregory marinas, and finish at the historic Detroit Yacht Club.  There will be a few different course configurations, and we will sail the one that is optimal for the conditions.
