Built For Battle: Sturgeon Bay Ships in World War II

The Door County Maritime Museum and Southern Door Community Auditorium collaborate to bring songs, images and stories from the 1940s to the Southern Door stage.

This performance is tied to the museum’s new temporary exhibit, highlighting warships built in Sturgeon Bay and the experiences of their crews during the tumultuous years of World War II. Coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the end of the War in 1945, this performance brings to life the big stories of bravery, sacrifice and tragedy aboard small ships during great engagements upon the waves.
